The Vision House board is pleased to announce that after 25 years of working passionately to reduce homelessness in the Puget Sound area, Susan Camerer is excited to hand over the reins of leadership. Susan has a long history of accomplishments and leaves the ministry in a strong financial position. She’s developed an expert staff and a devoted group of volunteers and supporters. “We’re truly grateful for Susan’s vision and unwavering service, which have built a strong organization,” said Vision House Board President David Chen. “We know she will continue to be a dedicated Vision House supporter and advocate for the homeless.”
We are very excited to announce that Melissa Gehrig will be filling the role as interim Executive Director. Melissa, in her 12th year with Vision House, has been instrumental in seeing the organization through 11 years of growth and has served Vision House as Office Manager and Human Resources Manager. With a master’s degree in organizational leadership and being a long-standing member of the organization’s leadership team, we believe she is an excellent choice to work with the board and continue to move the ministry in
a positive direction. Co-founder, John Camerer will continue to serve as Director of Operations and is excited to support Melissa in her new role. Melissa says of her upcoming transition – “I am honored and thrilled to take on a new level of leadership at Vision House. Vision House has invested in me and challenged me to be the person and leader I am today. I believe my past 11 years of work, personal growth and professional development have prepared me for this opportunity. I am proud to follow in Susan’s footsteps to continue to serve homeless men, women and children.”
Melissa moved into her new role November 2nd and Susan transitioned to a strategic advisor role through the end of February to assure a smooth transition. We look forward to Melissa’s leadership and to supporting her as she steps into this new role.
